Skywatch Friday ~ Just Before Sunrise!

Canon Rebel XSi, Manual mode, Aperture: f/16, Shutter speed: 1/80 sec., ISO: 800, Focal length: 55mm I took these pics on November 24th.......the colors in the sky were gorgeous! Next week I will post my pics of the sun after it came up. I've decided that the sunrise is my favorite thing to photograph right now.......if only I were a morning person!!! lol ***(click on pictures to enlarge)

    I know what you mean about surises and not being a "morning person"!!! When I do have to be somewhere early, I see what I miss getting my needed sleep!But once in a blue moon(you too) I get out there and am blessed!

  17. Thank you all, for your kind and encouraging comments. I was very pleased with these photos, except for the fact that I completely forgot to lower my ISO, as the sky got lighter. There's just so much to remember and little time to think when the sun comes up so FAST! I would have preferred less noise, so hopefully I have learned from this and next time will remember to keep my ISO lower.

    K Soucy, to answer your question....the first 5 pictures were taken right out my back door from my deck and then I walked a little ways down my driveway to take the others.

  19. Great photo series Debra - beautiful colour. I like the fact that you're playing around with the non-automatic settings on your camera! Have you tried the exposure compensation feature yet?

  20. Wow, absolutely stunning. I love #4 and #7 best. That mist below the mountains in #7 really complements the beautiful colors in the sunrise.
