Cherry Cobbler ~ (my son's favorite!)

This is a recipe, that I got from my sister-in-law, years ago and it happens to be my son's favorite! Michael and Jaymie just came for a visit and you know how it is.....when your child comes home.....they always want mom to make their favorites for them. So, I made him, his Cherry Cobbler and he was very happy! Andy went to DQ and bought a couple of quarts of vanilla icecream to put on top and we were all happy! Anyway, just thought I would share the recipe, but just know that this is not a healthy recipe in the least bit, but who cares.....it is soooo good!

1/2 cup melted butter
1 cup sugar
2 cups bisquick
1 cup milk
4 cups cherries ( I use two 20 oz. cans of Wilderness Cherry filling/topping. These are sweetened.)
3/4 cup water
1/2 cup sugar (to sprinkle on top)

Combine first 4 ingredients. Pour into 13 x 9 baking dish. Spoon on cherries, sprinkle on the 1/2 c. sugar, then add water. Bake on 350 for 45 minutes.

*For blackberry cobbler or any unsweetened berry or cherries ~ use 1 whole cup of sugar sprinkled on top!

  3. Wow, that looks like a really good recipe. I am not a huge fan of cobblers but Donnie is, so I will have to try this. Cobblers always make me think of summer, how I am longing for the warm days. Thanks for sharing and enjoy your family!

  5. Oh it is so good, if you use the Wilderness Original Country Cherry Pie Filling/Topping, but it would probably turn out ok with unsweetened cherries, as long as you use 1 cup of sugar to sprinkle on top. Unsweetened are always so tart though.

I've used blackberries and that is good too. The great thing about this recipe is how simple and easy it is to make, plus it is always a crowd pleaser! Hope you all enjoy it as much as we do. :)
