We went to Portland today and picked out the carpet and wood floor. It was really hard to get a good picture inside the store because of the glare from the lighting. These pics make the floor look a little more yellow than it really is, but trust me the carpet looks beautiful with it. Do you see the sample in the lower left corner? I didn't want the floor and cabinets to be the same color, instead I wanted a nice contrast and this combination is perfect. The cabinets pull out the warm, darker color in the wood grain. The floor is not solid hard wood........it is an engineered wood floor.......in other words, it is real wood on top of plywood. I love it!

ReplyDeleteWell, It's nice to know that someone else liked it too! So sad we can't have it though. :( I did love the rustic look of the wood floor! I am excited that this journey is almost over...believe me, I won't miss the stress of all the decisions. It looks like we will be in before Christmas, but we may not be finished with everything by then. I think Andy and I have decided to wait until after we move in to choose colors for each room and paint one room at a time. Not sure yet, but this is sounding like a good idea to me because I think it will be easier to choose colors, after the cabinets and flooring are in.
