Another Late Night!

It's 4:30 a.m. and we just got home from working on the house.......and I thought 3:00 a.m. last night was late!!! There's just so much to be done and we're running out of time. Andy has been trying to get all of the electrical done before the insulators come in to blow the insulation into the ceiling and I have been painting, sanding the putty on the trim and baseboards, vaccuuming again and again, taping off trim and painting trim. I couldn't hardly get out of bed this morning and it took me quite awhile til I could stand up straight and walk pretty normal and I have a feeling it will be worse tomorrow. Thank goodness for pain medication or I would have never gotten out of bed today. Somebody please tell me this will be over soon. :)

I know a couple of you have requested that I put some more pics of the house on here now that we've painted, but quite frankly I'm just too exhausted and I need to take a hot shower before crawling into bed. I will try and get some pics uploaded tomorrow. I saw that I had a few comments today and I am anxious to reply to them tomorrow.

  1. Dear Debra,
We moved into our home my husband built last year at this time, and believe me, I know what you are going through! It seemed as though the work would NEVER end -- especially because there were a gazillion details that had to be taken care of. At times I felt like we would never actually move in; it seemed like following Moses in the wilderness for 40 years! Whine, whine, whine (shame on me!) We struggled for months and months having biological and ecological surveys done, soil compaction tests, and on and on and on to obtain all the permits to allow us to start building (we're next to Dawson Creek wetlands). It was the hardest thing I've ever been through (besides parenting)... BUT JOY COMES IN THE MORNING!
God saw us through each step of the way, and believe me, it was almost unbelievable when we actually got to move in. I will never forget the tears of joy! We almost had to keep pinching ourselves to see that it really wasn't a dream. God Bless You and all Your Hard Work!
    Love, Lorie Gookin

  2. Lorie, I'm looking so forward to that joy coming in the morning! I know I will have to pinch myself for awhile too. I'm glad to hear that you survived the building of your house. I've heard so many horror stories about building a home and it is stressful, I have to admit, but I know it will be worth it in the end.

  3. The website changed to www.nwlfbc.org; I tried to set up a forward from the old one to the new address, but it didn't work. I will see if I can find someone to tell me how to do it, when I get back into the office. :)
